Each Cognac in The Time Collection is said to communicate a chapter in Louis XIII’s history. A new expression will be released under the range every two years. Back in 1569, on a battlefield in Jarnac, near the town of Cognac, a French royal military officer dropped a metal flask. The events that occurred at this medieval battle launched the story of the iconic Cognac, LOUIS XIII.Stamped with the French monarchy’s fleur-de-lys, the flask laid buried in the soil until a farmer unearthed it in the mid-1800s. In 1850, cellar master Paul-Emile Rémy Martin, owner of the Rémy Martin cognac house, fell for the intricate allure of the flask and purchased it.   The acquisition proved historic. Inspired by its striking shape and regal fleur-de-lys medallions, he decided to create a decanter in its image for a special cognac composed with only the very oldest and rarest eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne found in his cellars. Thus, began the history of LOUIS XIII which has since conquered time and is enjoyed around the world.Today, some 142 years later, LOUIS XIII celebrates its iconic history with “The Origin – 1874.” This exclusive decanter inaugurates a special series of limited editions, the Time…

It's actually a pretty nice picture of a $330,000 car, the Bentley Mulsanne. But Bentley is sparing no expense in the marketing of its latest ultra-luxury vehicle. The car maker on Tuesday unveiled what it's calling the "world's most extraordinary car photograph," featuring its new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase. What makes the image so extraordinary? They use the same technology developed by NASA to make panoramas from photographs beamed back by the Curiosity rover on Mars to create this 53 billion pixels image. Yes, billion. The mind-blowing "gigapixel" image, which shows the two-tone Mulsanne on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, was captured using technology originally developed by NASA to enable Mars rovers to take exploratory panoramic photographs. The resulting image is so large that you can zoom in from 700 meters to see the 4,500 individual stitches in the Mulsanne's embroidered "Winged B" headrest logo. Getting this insane level of detail required capturing 700 individual shots from the same location and digitally stitching them all together.Made up of approximately 53 billion pixels (or 53,000 megapixels), the final photo is 4,425 times larger than your typical smartphone image. To put this in perspective, if you printed it out true to size, the image would…

BMW is in the midst of celebrating its 100th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, it just rolled out the Vision Next 100 concept at its Munich headquarters. By all appearances, it's one of the most insane concept cars BMW has ever conceived.   If you squint your eyes, you can still see a car that's clearly a BMW here — it has the iconic "kidney" grille, for instance — but beyond that, the details are all visions of a distant future. The entire windshield is an augmented reality display, which takes the place of every single dashboard display. There are also 800 triangles embedded in the dash, which BMW calls Alive Geometry. These multicolor polygons apparently communicate "very directly with the driver through their movements, which are more like gestures than two-dimensional depictions on a display."   The most insane idea in the car, though, might be the ominously named "Companion." BMW describes the Companion as a gemstone-like object that "symbolizes the intelligence, connectivity and availability" of the car that learns about the owner over time and can eventually "perform routine tasks" and "offer advice." It moves depending on the car's current mode, signaling to nearby pedestrians when it's…
