The books are coming. And the readers and writers will follow, as they do by the hundreds of thousands every year for the Miami Book Fair International, an eight-day literary party in November.

The Fair, will open Sunday November 13 with the popular Evenings With… series, featuring six nights of readings and discussions with noted authors from the United States and around the world.

On Friday, the Street Fair gets under way. The highlight of the Street Fair is the Festival of Authors, with more than 450 authors reading and discussing their work, including the Latin American and Spanish authors who participate in the IberoAmerican Authors Program. Thousands of South Florida schoolchildren will help kick off the Street Fair, making the trip downtown Friday to hear authors and participate in Children’s Alley activities, including theater, arts-and-crafts, storytelling and readings by children’s book authors. Comics and graphic novels are once again featured, and a new section just for kids and teens, as well as presentations over the weekend by renowned graphic novelists and illustrators.

During Street Fair weekend, November 18-20, more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibit and sell books, with special features like the antiquarians, who showcase signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

The first Miami Book Fair, founded by Miami Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then, it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival.

It’s only natural that Miami, a place with summer all year around, would be the ideal choice for the swimsuit industry’s biggest event of the year. All the major labels come out to play and young up-and-coming designers vie for a spot to get their suits into the eyes of the fashion elite. Nearly fifty designers show off their latest and greatest in the Mercedes-Benz tents alone. Across the city dozens of designers participate in satellite events that are organized by independent organizations.

Some of the biggest names in fashion show their swim collections during Swim Week. One year, Chanel put together a crew of synchronized swimmers and Chloe has started regularly showing on a runway atop the pool of the hyper-exclusive Soho Beach House.

Like any fashion event, it’s just as much about the parties and sponsorships, the red carpet and the street style as it is the main event. Miami Beach’s club, venues and hip eateries are packed with the jet-set crew of models, editors, photographers, writers and designers.

It’s late July and that means it’s hot, hot, hot in Miami. While it’s all about the clothes at any fashion show, this is probably the fashion event of the year with the least amount of clothes.

The scene is a familiar one for the international fashion set: the champagne flows, well-dressed show-goers sit and chat about the latest industry gossip, photographers snap pictures of the very best dressed.

Designers with cult-followings like Mara Hoffman, Roxy Pop Surf, Suboo, Wildfox Swim and more take to the tents and show off what the swim scene will look like for the next year. This year Mercedes Benz Fashion Swim Week is scheduled at 16-20 July 2016. Stay tuned at Miami City Social for more information.

LE Miami is the world's first event to reflect shift in Luxury. Traditional luxury belongs to the past. LE Miami is the catalyst for the next evolution of travel. We call it definition by style.

In the last 20 years, a new charge of creative, design-led and community-integrated ‘lifestyle’ hotels have transformed the travel industry. The emergence of the new ‘creative class’, representing 30% of the Western workforce and growing by 7% every year, has driven a demand for travel products that are unique, culturally connected and bespoke.

Consequently, the contemporary definition of luxury isn’t about money. It’s about creating an inimitable experience based on style, space, wellbeing, content, design, authenticity, storytelling, urbanity and innovation. The future belongs to the pioneers with the capacity and bravery to act on this cultural shift first.

LE Miami’s purpose is to identify and unite these travel rebels by connecting influential buyers representing this creative class clientele with the edgiest international travel brands.

Our Limited Edition collective meets in Miami annually for our fiercely business-driven yet passionately festival-like event. Across four days there are up to 45 pre-scheduled appointments with relevant individuals. However, we curate both our crowd and our scene to go beyond the average trade show, transforming our conference into a Ministry of Ideas; networking events into electric parties; and dull plasterboard booths into a revolutionary show space.

Idiosyncratic, eclectic and increasingly iconic, LE Miami’s namesake and host city is as Limited Edition as the event itself. Miami’s patchwork of clashing neighbourhoods meld into an emerging international hub for creativity – and make it the natural setting for the world’s only event to connect the high-end contemporary travel industry with the creative class.

LE Miami takes place in the Miami Beach Convention Centre – the host of other important events such as Art Basel, and a striking example of South Beach’s iconic Art Deco architecture. The LE Miami 2016 runs at June 6th - June 9th.

Not being your standard trade show, we’ve conceived an environment that reflects the rebellious, inventive spirit of the creative class. Taking our cues from the world of art, fashion, music and design, LE Miami fuses exhibitor stands with spaces to network and be inspired, including a DJ booth, bar, art installations and big screens.

Aqua Girl® traces its beginnings to the year 1999. That year, Alison Burgos and NYC’s legendary women’s producer, Shescape, gathered a committee of like-minded women from around South Florida to produce an exciting one-night event to benefit breast cancer. The event, Sweet Charity, was an extraordinary dance event bringing together over 800 women and raising over $15,000 for two local breast cancer organizations, Cancer Link and Gilda’s Club.

In 2000, Sweet Charity grew into an entire weekend of events and Aqua Girl® was born. The goal was to create a dynamic national fundraising weekend celebrating women and the issues that affect them. Women descended on Miami from all over the world and the first year of this spectacular weekend of events was a huge success.

We can’t believe how time flies. Now in its seventeenth fabulous year, Aqua Girl® continues to attract women from all corners of the country, the Americas and around the globe. The week continues to grow with an ever-expanding variety of events that enhance its appeal and have created what is now the hottest women’s festivals in the country.

As the largest charity women’s week in the country, your participation in Aqua Girl® contributes to a very good cause. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from Aqua Girl® benefit the Aqua Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit foundation whose primary mission is to serve as the funding catalyst for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender wellness and equality in South Florida through grants, scholarships, and initiatives.

The Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show, recognized as the largest boating event of the year, returns February 11-15, 2016, hosting 2,000 companies from across the globe and more than 3,000 of the newest boats for sale – from luxury motor and sailing yachts to sport fishing boats, PWC’s, family cruisers and offshore racing boats.

For the first time since 1969, another event site will host the main attractions of the Miami International Boat Show. A marina will be built at the Miami Marine Stadium with space for more than 700 boats on the water for boat and engine manufacturers. The rest can be displayed on land in about 600,000 square feet of indoor tent space. The 2016 Miami International Boat Show will be at the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin and Miamarina at Bayside Marketplace.

You name it you’ll see it here—from the latest in powerboats, sailboats and engines to cutting-edge marine electronics and accessories to the best in nautical gifts, services and apparel. And there’s no better time to buy! The 5-day event is your once-a-year chance to compare makes and models, and gear up with the latest accessories all at one time!

Beyond the boats and booths special events, attractions and activities celebrate the boating lifestyle and offer entertainment for everyone. Launch your boating life at the Welcome to the Water Center which includes Boating 101, Advanced Seminars, Discover Boating for under $250/Month.  Discover Boating Puts You at the Helm!  — register for hands-on, on-the-water clinics and seminars to help you get started in boating. The Big Game Room sponsored by SIMRAD features everything for sport fishing, from boats and gear to seminars and clinics. And that’s just the start—visit the show highlight page for a complete listing.

If sailing is your passion, stop by Strictly Sail Miami at Miamarina at Bayside. You’ll find sailboats, sailing gear and accessories from around the world—including an unbeatable selection of catamarans. Among the highlights— daily sailing seminars, Cruiser's Outpost Cruiser's Party, featuring the Eric Stone Band on Saturday, Sailing Simulator and more.
