Since 1970, Art Basel’s goal has been to connect the world's premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international artworld. Now, over forty years later, its three fairs - in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach - rank as the premier shows of their kind, presenting 20th and 21st century art with a strong curatorial perspective.

Their reputation for showing high quality work has attracted leading international galleries and collectors, offering visitors the most important art from around the world.

In the American show, 269 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant works from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large‐scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city's outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.

At the nexus of North America and Latin America, our Miami Beach show presents artworks from across the globe. The world's leading galleries participate, drawing over 70,000 visitors each year.

With miles of sandy beaches dotted with classic Art Deco architecture, world-class art museums, and a glittering nightlife, Miami Beach ranks among America's most iconic cities. During Art Basel, it embraces the artworld with special exhibitions at museums and galleries across the city, transforming the week into a dense and dynamic cultural event.

The books are coming. And the readers and writers will follow, as they do by the hundreds of thousands every year for the Miami Book Fair International, an eight-day literary party in November.

The Fair, will open Sunday November 13 with the popular Evenings With… series, featuring six nights of readings and discussions with noted authors from the United States and around the world.

On Friday, the Street Fair gets under way. The highlight of the Street Fair is the Festival of Authors, with more than 450 authors reading and discussing their work, including the Latin American and Spanish authors who participate in the IberoAmerican Authors Program. Thousands of South Florida schoolchildren will help kick off the Street Fair, making the trip downtown Friday to hear authors and participate in Children’s Alley activities, including theater, arts-and-crafts, storytelling and readings by children’s book authors. Comics and graphic novels are once again featured, and a new section just for kids and teens, as well as presentations over the weekend by renowned graphic novelists and illustrators.

During Street Fair weekend, November 18-20, more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibit and sell books, with special features like the antiquarians, who showcase signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

The first Miami Book Fair, founded by Miami Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then, it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival.

The dream of an international tennis tournament in Miami began in the 1960s, when top tennis players such as Jack Kramer, Frank Sedgman, Pancho Gonzalez, Pancho Segura and Butch Buchholz toured the country in a station wagon, playing tennis in darkened arenas and fairgrounds. It was before the days of Open tennis, and they travelled with a portable canvas court and plenty of hopes. Buchholz - an original member of the "Handsome Eight" (the first recognized pros of Lamar Hunt's World Championship Tennis Circuit introduced in 1968) - competed until he was forced to retire from tennis in 1970 with chronic tennis elbow.

This year, The Miami Open is set from March 21 to April 3, 2016. The event will take place at the Crandon Park Tennis Center in Key Biscayne, Florida. All the big names of the tennis world including the likes of Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will make their presence felt and will challenge for the title. However, it won’t cost a fan big money to watch their tennis stars since the ticket prices are quite affordable.

Miami Open is one of the very few tournaments outside the four Grand Slams where all the top men’s and women’s players turn up to participate. Many experts consider it as one of the most important tournaments of the calendar year, outside the four slams. This year, it has been made easier for the fans to watch their stars in action, live. The ticket prices have been made remarkably affordable, especially on weekdays. They start from $7 per adult for the 400-level section of the stadium. Click HERE to get the tickets.
